Metaphor

Go on, ask me what love really is
I might have no answer but this

Cuz darling, all it is is a thing that happens
And darling, all the rest is metaphor

Like love songs, white rose, teardrops on my tongue
Raincoat, goodnight, the girl I call Love.

Cuz darling, all it is is a thing that happens
And darling, all the rest is metaphor
Well darling, all my love is never-ending
And darling, all my words are metaphor

Like love songs, white rose.

Like almost all of life (and art), something happens, and that's the artwork, and then pages of words are written about it, careers are made and broken discussing it, and great quantites of money are the necessary equal and opposite reaction to it's traversal of ownership. The important thing is the thing itself; all else is a metaphor. Plus, words are silly. Go read Derida.
